Weather Synopsis: Happy Father’s Day! Today, as high pressure has been in control of the forecast, we’ve enjoyed pleasant weather with temperatures in the low to mid 80’s for just about everyone. As we get into tonight, temperatures will not be as cool, but we will continue to enjoy a mostly clear sky overnight.

Then on Monday, we change things up a bit. As we have an upper level disturbance move through the area, we will resurrect the chances for showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. As the area will be in a northwesterly flow for Tuesday and Wednesday, we will continue the chances for showers and thunderstorms as we again, see an upper level disturbance move through the region in combination with the heat and humidity. A cold front will approach the area for Wednesday Night and into Thursday, and will stall across the area as we get into the end of the week, continuing our chances of showers and thunderstorms.

With the heat and humidity from Monday through Wednesday, we can not rule out some isolated strong to severe thunderstorms with gusty winds and hail. Not anticipating any widespread severe weather, but a few strong to severe thunderstorms are possible.

Enjoy the nice weather today, and keep the umbrella handy for majority of the week ahead!

I’ll see you on WHAG News at 11:00 PM on Sunday Night, then again starting at 7:00 PM on Monday Evening.
