Weather Synopsis: After the active evening we had last night with the strong to severe thunderstorms, today was definitely a change for the better, as we still kept the heat around, but we dropped the humidity for the most part. I hope you enjoyed the dry weather today, because we’re back to a more summer like pattern as we get through the weekend and into early next week.

Most us will be dry for Friday, but as we get into Friday Night, we will see the front that moves through the area tonight, retreat back north through the region, bringing a renewed chance of showers and thunderstorms through next week. I think any shower or thudnderstorm activity we see on Friday will be isolated, keeping the majority of us dry, but after Friday, that changes.

With the thunderstorms next week, they will be what’s called diurnally driven, which means they develop with the daytime heating and once we get past sunset, those thunderstorms will dissipate. The forecast models are showing that we will get a cold front through here as we get into Wednesday Night, bringing drier and less humid weather for the area this time, next week.  Until then, Monday through Wednesday of next week will be down right miserable!  Hazy, hot and humid with daily chances for showers and thunderstorms.

I’ll see you on WHAG News at 5:00, 5:30 and 6:00 PM tonight, then I am taking some time off to go home and visit with my family. Lou will be covering for me on WHAG News Friday and Monday Evenings. See you all back here on Tuesday Night.

Have a great and relaxing weekend!
