Weather Synopsis: The rain has been pretty steady from last night into the overnight hours, and as we look ahead to today, as a cold front moves through the area, we will bring in the chance for thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening hours.

The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma has placed the region in a Slight Risk for severe weather for Tuesday Afternoon and evening.  Damaging winds and hail along with heavy rainfall will be the primary threats, but an isolated tornado can not be ruled out as well, although I think the risk of that is very low. We also need to be alert for localized water management issues and flash flooding out of some of the heavier rain that develops today, as some of us have seen a good deal of rain already.

Once the front moves through the region on Tuesday Night, we will bring in some sunshine for Wednesday, but conditions will be breezy as well, as high pressure moves into the region.  The sunshine will continue through the weekend and into the early portions of next week, with no other active weather in sight.

Stay weather aware as we get into the afternoon and evening hours today, We’ll keep you ahead of the storms.
