Chambersburg Teen Charged with Criminal Homicide of Infant

An 18-year-old from Chambersburg is behind bars without bail after officers said she admitted to causing injuries to a 3-month-old baby girl, resulting in her death.
FRANKLIN COUNTY, Pa. - A Chambersburg teenager is behind bars without bail after officers said she admitted to causing injuries to a 3-month-old baby girl, resulting in her death. 

Rosanna Desinor, 18, of Chambersburg, Pa., was arrested Wednesday, August 20, 2014 and is charged with first-degree criminal homicide. 

The incident happened early Wednesday morning at 12:21 a.m. along North Third Street in Chambersburg. 

Police said the 3-month-old, identified as Kaendra Destinvil, was found unresponsive and transported to Chambersburg Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The infant had visible wounds, including bruises and abrasions on her head and body. 

Officers said an autopsy was conducted at 8 a.m. Wednesday on the body of Kaendra at Lehigh Valley Hospital. During this procedure multiple injuries were documented. The injuries included a fractured skull, along with multiple contusions and abrasions on the head and body. They said the injuries were consistent with and the result of blunt force trauma. 

The investigation included numerous interviews with people whom had contact with the infant in the hours leading up to her death. During the interview process Desinor admitted to causing the injuries that ultimately killed the infant. 

Police said Desinor and the victim are not related. 

Desinor is being held without bond at the Franklin County Jail. She's due in court for her preliminary hearing on August 26, 2014. 

The investigation, which is jointly conducted by the Chambersburg Police Dept. and the Franklin County Cornorer's Office, is ongoing.
