MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A convicted felon with a warrant out for his arrest, is racking up more charges after running from police.
This all began on 605 North Queen Street in Martinsburg Wednesday, May 14, 2014 when neighbors reported seeing a suspicious man, now identified as 20-year-old Michael Camps, pacing on top of a roof.
Martinsburg City Police observed Camps hiding on the roof, crouched down, while talking on his cell phone.
Upon seeing officers, Camps jumped off the roof and started running.
The officer on patrol had to subdue him with a taser when he failed to show his hands.
A .22 caliber revolver was found on Camps along with 2.1 grams of heroin.
Camps was found to have a State warrant through the West Virginia State Police. Police say Camps also had a prior felony conviction. He was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, and was served the State Capius.
Police say Camps was further charged with possession of CDS with the intent to deliver.
