Crash Kills One in Frederick

The victim was traveling southbound on Buffalo Road in Mount Airy when he struck a guardrail and then crashed into a tree.
FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. - Deputies say a serious crash on Sunday night has claimed the life of a local teenager.

The young man, now identified as Timothy Burdette, 18, was traveling southbound on Buffalo Road in Mount Airy when he struck a guardrail and then crashed into a tree. 

Mount Airy Fire and Rescue says Burdette was pronounced dead on scene.

Deputies with the Frederick County Sheriff's Office said at this time speed and alcohol are believed to be contributing factors in the crash.

The investigation is still ongoing.
