Crash Shuts Down Interstate 70 For An Hour

Dispatchers with Washington County Fire and Rescue say it happened around 3:30 p.m. at mile marker 37, between the Boonsboro and Myersville exits.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Md. - An accident shut down Interstate 70 eastbound for about an hour Sunday afternoon and snarled traffic for miles.

Maryland State Police in Hagerstown say it happened around 3:30 p.m. At mile marker 37.

I-70 eastbound reopened shortly before 4:30 p.m. Police say a woman drove her car into the back of a tractor trailer. That woman was taken to Meritus Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The tractor trailer driver escaped without any injuries.
