Creative Arts Festival Kicks Off

From wood sculpting, to painting, a lot of the submissions were made in the center's workshop.
BERKELEY COUNTY, W.Va. - The Martinsburg Veterans Affairs Medical Center held their annual Creative Arts Festival on Thursday.

Folks enjoyed the atmosphere, and appreciated the artwork created by local veteran artists.

From wood sculpting, to painting, a lot of the submissions were made in the center's workshop.

Awards were presented to different categories of art.

"We express our art. We tell how it works for us in our rehabilitation process, we get to meet great people from Alaska to Washington, D.C.," said Charles Marshall, Art Festival champion.

Winners from this event qualify to put their art in a national contest held in Milwaukee later this year.
