Crews Battle Large Water Main Break

Police arrived at the scene to find water gushing up out of the drains and through cracks in the street.
HAGERSTOWN, Md. - Crews were called to the scene of a water main break Sunday in Washington County, Maryland.

Dispatchers received a call just after 8:15 p.m. about a water main break along the 300 block of East Antietam Street in Hagerstown.

Hagerstown Auxiliary Police arrived at the scene to find water gushing up out of the drains and through cracks in the street.

Officials said that they were also contacted by the Venice Inn in the Dual Highway with complaints about water pressure issues.

Officials are currently assessing the damage and do not yet know how long the break will take to fix. The exact cause of the break is currently under investigation.
