Detectives Investigate Breaking and Entering at School

Officers said on Sunday, August 17 around 3 p.m. they were called to Virginia Avenue Charlotte Dehart Elementary School after teachers at the facility reported items in their classroom were out of place.

WINCHESTER, Va. - Detectives with the Winchester Police Department are investigating a breaking and entering at a local school. 

Officers said on Sunday, August 17 around 3 p.m. they were called to Virginia Avenue Charlotte Dehart Elementary School after teachers at the facility reported items in their classroom were out of place.

Electronic devices were also reported stolen. Police said at least seven classrooms appeared to have been rummaged through during the early morning hours. 

Video surveillance shows at least two suspects. Officers said this incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Solvers Hotline at (540)-665-TIPS.
