Family Dollar Closing Many of its Stores

In a statement released by Family Dollar they say after a comprehensive review they've decided to close around 370 stores.
WHAG NEWS - A retail chain with several locations throughout the four-state area announced it's closing many of its stores.

For more than 50 years Family Dollar has provided big savings for customers in more than 45 states. However, in a statement released by Family Dollar they say after a comprehensive review they've decided to close around 370 stores.

Their low sales last year were a huge factor in this decision.

"I wouldn't expect this location to close. It's viable. It does a lot of business, and they're quick to service. They will actually open that second counter as soon as they see the need. So the customers are repeat customers. They come here again and again," said Glenn Campbell, customer.

Family Dollar hasn't finalized the store closure plan, so it's not clear if stores in the four-state area will be affected.
