Father and Son Charged with Stealing Automotive Parts

Officers say around 9:25 a.m. Sunday, March 9 they were called to 5100 Buchanan Trail East for the report of suspicious activity.
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Officers with the Washington Township Police Department arrested two men after they say the pair were caught stealing automotive parts from a local business. 

Officers say around 9:25 a.m. Sunday, March 9 they were called to 5100 Buchanan Trail East for the report of suspicious activity. The caller told police he saw two men at the back of the business, taking automotive parts. 

Waynesboro police had an officer in the area and were able to arrive on the scene first and intercepted the two men as they were trying to leave the business in a truck loaded with parts. 

Upon arrival, Washington Township Police apprehended the two men. 

James Shifflett Sr., 42, and James Shifflett Jr., 21, both of Waynesboro are charged with theft and aiding in the planning of a crime. Police say Shifflett Jr. is also charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana.
