Fighting Hunger in Frederick County

FREDERICK, MD- Non-profits and food banks are teaming up to fight hunger in Frederick County.

On Tuesday, the Maryland Food Bank donated fruits and vegetables to the Frederick Rescue Mission.  The items will be dispersed to non-profits such as the Heartly and Gale houses, as well as the Brunswick Food Bank.  Those organizations will then distribute the food to hopefully feed over the 15,000 homeless and low-income residents in the area.

"There are a lot of people who have lost jobs, their homes and they don't know how they are going to make it.  We are working together to make sure those in need get what they need," says Arnold Farlow, the director of Frederick Rescue Mission.

About 10,000 lbs. of food were donated by the Maryland Food Bank.
