Fire Marshal Investigating Cause of Truck Fire

Investigators say the 2004 Chevrolet Pickup owned by local resident Dennis Cyr, sustained $4,000 in damages.
WASHINGTON COUNTY, Md. - Officials with the Maryland State Fire Marshal are investigating after a truck caught fire early Thursday morning. 

It happened around 1:16 a.m. at 241 Railway Lane in Hagerstown. 

Investigators say the 2004 Chevrolet Pickup owned by local resident Dennis Cyr, sustained $4,000 in damages. 

They say the fire started in the bed of the truck and was discovered by a passerby. 

It took three firefighters with the Halfway Fire Department to get the blaze under control within one minute. 

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the State Fire Marshal's Office at 301-766-3888.
