Weather Alert: A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for portions of the viewing area from Interstate 81 and points East until 10:00 PM tonight.

River Flood Warning remains in effect through Saturday Morning for the Concocoheague Creek affecting Fairview, Washington County, MD where a major flood is forecast from the rain last night and what is anticipated tonight. The River Flood Warning will go through at least Saturday Morning, and may need to be extended further than that, if more heavy rain hits the area tonight.

Weather Synopsis: The cold front is FINALLY moving towards the area, and after it moves through it will set us up for a very nice Father’s Day Weekend.

Until then… we’ve got more flooding problems to worry about. Heavy rain is again possible through late Friday Night until this front moves through. With all the rain some portions of the area has already received, this could only aggravate areas that receive rainfall and have had flooding problems. Showers and thunderstorms are possible tonight, some could be severe (a few storms…), and again heavy rain.

Once the front moves through, high pressure will build into the region bringing lower humidity values, plenty of sunshine for this Father’s Day Weekend. After that slides off to the East during the latter portions of the weekend into early next week, the weather pattern becomes active once again. Once the patters gets active, we’re looking at more heat and more humidity, with daily chances for showers and thunderstorms.

Stay WEATHER AWARE as we get into tonight for the potential of more heavy rainfall and possible flooding.

I’ll see you on WHAG News at 5:00, 6:00, 7:00 and 11:00 PM tonight, plus WHAG News at 11:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday.
