Former Berkeley County Sheriff's Deputy Indicted

BERKELEY COUNTY, W.Va. - A grand jury indicted a former Berkeley County sheriff's deputy on charges relating to providing firearms to a person who's prohibited from possessing a gun. 

The counts listed in the indictment charge Michael L. Buracker, of Martinsburg, W.Va., with felony transfer of firearms to a prohibited person. 

Court officials Wednesday said Buracker allegedly provided an person with a firearms as collateral for a loan. However, that person was previously convicted of a domestic-related offense that prohibited them from possessing a firearm. 

Buracker resigned from the sheriff's office in September 2013. He had been with the department since 2008.
