Weather Synopsis: Happy Fourth of July Everyone, and boy what a difference 24 hours makes! This time yesterday we we’re talking about severe weather, and today we’re enjoying lots of sunshine, although it is a little breezy, and it looks like the nice weather will continue right on into the weekend.

High pressure is building into the area today bringing us the sunshine today and clear skies for any fireworks celebrations slated for Friday Night or Saturday Night.  The winds will subside as we get into the evening hours, thanks to the pressure gradient from Hurricane Arthur which made landfall on the Outer Banks of North Carolina as a Category 2 Hurricane late Friday Night.  Hurricane Arthur is making his way up the Eastern Seaboard, Tropical Storm Warnings and Flood Watches are active for the better portion of the coast of New England tonight as a soaking Fourth of July is expected.

Saturday and Sunday will feature more sunshine and a few clouds, but we will also take the temperatures up a few degrees each day through the weekend, but the humidity will also continue to be on the low side for this weekend! A great weekend to get outside and enjoy this nice summer time weather!

Once we get into the beginning of next week, we will bring back the 3 H’s of Summer, as hazy, hot and humid conditions return, but also do the chances for showers and thunderstorms. Some storms on Tuesday of next week could have gusty winds and heavy rainfall as a cold front closes in on the area as we work into the middle portions of next week, then we will bring back more sunshine as we bring the first full week of July to a close

Have a safe, and happy holiday weekend, and enjoy this nice weather!!

Happy Fourth of July, and I’ll see you on WHAG News at 5:00, 6:00, 7:00 and 11:00 PM!
