Frederick Man Arrested in Assault, Robbery inside Kmart

The incident happened Thursday, April 10, around 4:17 p.m. at the Kmart located on W Patrick Street.
FREDERICK, Md. - Officers with the Frederick Police Department have a arrested a local man after they say he assaulted and robbed another person inside a Kmart store. 

The incident happened Thursday, April 10, around 4:17 p.m. at the Kmart located on W Patrick Street. 

Police say Joseph Scott Bryant, 25, got into a fight with a person he knew inside the store. During the fight Bryant assaulted the person, and stole items off of them. He then fled the area and got into his vehicle and drove away. 

The male victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

Detectives were able to locate Bryant in front of his home along the 2200 block of Wetherburne Way in Frederick Thursday evening. He was taken into custody without incident. 

Bryant is charged with robbery, second-degree assault, and one count of theft less than $1,000. He's currently being held at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center on $200,000 bond. The investigation is ongoing.
