Frederick Police Make Fifth Arrest in Armed Car Jacking Case

Taquan Palmer has been charged with armed robbery, kidnapping, and first degree assault.

FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. - A fifth arrest has been made in the armed car jacking case in Frederick, Maryland.

Tayquan Palmer was arrested on East Third Street just before midnight Thursday night.

This is a follow up to an attempted armed robbery with shots fired on Stratford Way Thursday evening.

A victim told authorities people exited a car and approached him with handguns. He was then taken, against his will, back to his apartment on Stratford Way where he was able to get free from the suspects.

The victim fled, which caused the suspects to fire several shots into the door of the victim's apartment.

Officers found a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle and attempted to stop the car.

The vehicle refused to stop and led members of the Frederick Police Department on a chase.

Officers from the Frederick County Sheriff's Office and Maryland State Police later joined the pursuit which ended on Ballenger Creek Pike when stop spikes were used.

He has been charged with armed robbery, kidnapping, and first-degree assault.
