Frederick Woman Arrested on Heroin, Child Neglect Charges

Police say Baxter was the custodian of a child at the time of the incident. A family member responded to take custody of the child.
FREDERICK, Md. - A Frederick woman is facing multiple charges after police say she was discovered unconscious from an apparent heroin overdose.

The incident happened at 6:47 p.m. Tuesday, July 1 along the 300 block of S. Jefferson Street. 

Upon arrival, officers discovered Sashae Caprice Baxter, 21, of Frederick, Md., had overdosed in a restroom. Police say Baxter was the custodian of a child at the time of the incident. A family member responded to take custody of the child. 

Officers say Baxter was treated on scene by EMS for the overdose. She regained consciousness and was taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital for evaluation. 

Baxter was then transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center for processing. She's charged with possession of CDS heroin, two counts of possession of paraphernalia, and child neglect.
