Frederick Woman Faces Assault Charges

Officers with the Frederick Police Department arrested a local woman after they say she stabbed another man during an argument.
FREDERICK, Md. - Officers with the Frederick Police Department arrested a local woman after they say she stabbed another man during an argument. 

The incident happened along the 900 block of Young Place in Frederick. 

Officers say around 7:33 a.m. on March 30, 2014, they responded to a reported injured person at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Police arrived and found a man who stated he had been stabbed. 

Throughout the investigation, officers determined the victim and the suspect, Carmen Victoria Ramos, knew each other. The two got into a fight, which led to an attack on the victim. 

Police say during the attack a struggle ensued, which ultimately led to Ramos stabbing the victim. Ramos initially fled the scene, and was not found at the time. 

On Tuesday, April 8, Ramos was found and taken into custody. She was transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center for an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner. 

Ramos is charged with first and second-degree assault, and reckless endangerment.
