Front Royal Walmart Reopens After Major Gas Leak

A Walmart store in Front Royal has reopened after a gas leak forced the store to be evacuated Wednesday morning.
FRONT ROYAL, Va. – A Walmart store in Front Royal has reopened after a gas leak forced the store to be evacuated Wednesday morning.

Firefighters report that a store employee was using a lift machine when it came into contact with a one-inch gas line.

The store filled with gas after the line was ruptured. A store employee pulled a fire alarm and the store was evacuated before firefighters arrived.

The store was deemed safe and the situation was under control just after 10 a.m. Wednesday. 

The lawn center will remain closed to customers until repairs can be made.

No injuries were reported.
