Frostburg Shooting University Student Charged After Making Shooting Threats

Officials in Allegany County say they have charged a Frostburg State University Student after he made a threat online.
Frostburg, MD - Officials with the Allegany County Combined Criminal Investigation Unit charged a 21 year-old Frostburg State University Student with disrupting school functions after they say he made threats online.

Officials said FSU Police were made aware of the threats being made on the web based messaging application "Yik Yak".  They said on the website, Marvin Ogu stated "At 5:30 tomorrow I'm going to start shooting".   Members of the C3I used information from the internet provider that led them to Ogu.

Further investigation revealed that Ogu was not in possession of any weapons.  According to police, Ogu said he made the threat as a joke.

Ogu was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance and has been released pending further court appearances.
