Generous Donation Presented to Maryland Food Bank

"We generally don't see big checks like this in Western Maryland. It's a special day for us. We have en extremely generous community. A lot more individual and smaller contributions which helps make up our budget, and help us meet the need. So to have a big check we can do big things with it," said Matt Thompson, manager.
WILLIAMSPORT, Md. - The Maryland Food Bank got a welcome donation; Dot Foods presented them with a $50,000 check Thursday.

Dot Foods is donating more than $400,000 to food banks nationwide.

Organizers estimate these donations should help create about 3.7 million meals for people in need. Something they say the community will use.
