This foundation is the worlds leader in the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis, and the Great Stride Walk is the leading national fundraiser for the cause.

In 2013, the Great Strides in Maryland raised a record breaking $60,000, and organizers say they're hoping to raise even more this year.

"30,000 children and young adults in the United States that live with cystic fibrosis, so we all come together to celebrate the memory of people that pass with it and to celebrate the lives of those living with cystic fibrosis," Johnny Arias, co-chair of the event.
