HAGERSTOWN, Md.— Locals gathered at Hagerstown City Park for a free summer concert Saturday evening.
It was all part of the "Music by the Lake" concert series, which is sponsored by the city of Hagerstown and the Washington County Arts Council.
Saturday's concert featured the Dark Hollow Bluegrass band. The Madison, Virginia based group is known for their three-part harmonies and traditional bluegrass singing style.
When asked why he enjoys bluegrass so much, Larry Haynes, one of the members of Dark Hollow Bluegrass, said, "It's heart-felt music. A lot of the songs you do, you can actually feel it. You know someone who's going through what you're singing about."
The concert series will continue under the band shell at City Park every Saturday evening for the next few weeks with different bands featured every weekend.
