Hospice of Washington County Grants a Patient's Wish

It was always a dream of Genny Kotun to have one of her books published, so hospice supplied a grant through their “My Wish” Program to have Genny's book, "Lovebunch" published and printed.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Md. - The Hospice of Washington County held a special surprise event for one of their patients with a very special wish.  It was always a dream of Genny Kotun to have one of her books published, so hospice supplied a grant through their “My Wish” Program to have Genny's book, "Lovebunch" published and printed.

Hospice also held a surprise book signing party in her honor where she autographed copies of her book and acknowledged their help with the creation and publishing of the book.

Hospice of Washington County began granting the wishes of their patients on October 1, 2013.  Over three dozen wishes have been granted since the program began.

When asked about the surprise, Genny says, “I just couldn’t believe my ears really at first; I really was very surprised. I really wept tears of joy.”  She also added, “know how much life is beautiful and please, please live each day as if its your last.”
