House Fire Leaves a Family Without a Place to Live

The Red Cross is assisting the family, who is displaced.

FAYETTEVILLE., Pa. - A Sunday afternoon fire ripped through a home in Franklin County and left a family without a place to live.

According to dispatchers with Franklin County Fire and Rescue, the fire broke out around 1:30 p.m. at 29 East Main Street in Fayetteville.

Dispatchers say crews arrived to find heavy fire inside the house. Most damage is contained to the second floor and attic. Two people made it out of the home safety.

The Red Cross is assisting the family, and the fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
