IceFest 2014

DiMartino said he and his crew used 26.5 tons of ice to carve the 84 magnificent ice creations on display at this year's event.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - IceFest 2014 is officially underway. The annual four day event features food, fun and of course ice sculptures.

“I enjoy coming to Chambersburg. We’ve been coming here for 12 years,” said Ernie DiMartino.

DiMartinos’ company, DiMartino Ice, has been supplying ice for the event since it started.

He and his crew were hard at work Thursday afternoon getting the downtown area ready for the big event.

“We’re gonna set out the sculptures that are finished. The sculptures we carved back at the ice house over the past few months,” said DiMartino.

DiMartino said he and his crew used
26.5 tons of ice to carve the 84 magnificent ice creations on display at this year's event.

“People react to the sculptures differently-most are amazed to see an ice cube as a big block of ice,” said DiMartino. “Once we carve it, they appreciate it artwork.”

DiMartino says he enjoys being part of an event that benefits the community.

“We have people come up to us and say they’ve traveled from this destination. We come every year, we love to come to Chambersburg to view the ice sculptures and see your work,” said DiMartino.

IceFest runs through Sunday. For a full list of events click here
