Increased Thefts from Vehicles in Frederick

The Frederick Police Department and the Neighborhood Advisory Council want to make the community aware of an uptick in items being stolen from vehicles in the Golf View Area.
FREDERICK, Md. - The Frederick Police Department and the Neighborhood Advisory Council want to make the community aware of an uptick in items being stolen from vehicles in the Golf View Area.

Car thefts were reported to have happened between July 20 and August 19, 2014 during the late night and overnight hours.

iPods, iPhones, cash, credit cards and sunglasses were taken from eight different cars, according to the Frederick Police Department.

Local authorities are urging residents to lock their car doors, keep valuables out of sight and park in well-lit areas.
