Large Turnout for 29th Annual Washington County Home Show

More than 125 vendors filled all 191 booths in the gymnasium, offering all sorts of home-related goods and services to the public, ranging from hardwood floor installation to gardening and landscaping services.
HAGERSTOWN, Md. - Crowds gathered this weekend for an event that has been taking place in Hagerstown for nearly three decades.

"The Home Builders Association was started by a group of local builders in the mid 60s, and they started this 29 years ago as a showcase so that the general public could could and meet with a number of builders all in one location," said Tim Fields, chair of the Home Show Committee.

The Home Builders Association of Washington County is holding its annual home show at Hagerstown Community College's ARCC building Saturday and Sunday.

"We have 127 different exhibitors, maybe about only 20 builders, but if it's about the home, it's here. Whether it's inside finishing the basement or outside putting new blacktop on your driveway, if it's about the home, it's here," Fields said.

More than 125 vendors filled all 191 booths in the gymnasium, offering all sorts of home-related goods and services to the public, ranging from hardwood floor installation to gardening and landscaping services.

This show gives current and future home owners the opportunity to speak one on one with local businesses and to scope out what products and services are available to them.

"This has been a terrific show, the best show we've had in quite a number of years. We've had an awesome number of people come out to support the builders and exhibitors. We had a full show and we are really excited," said Kelli Munnally, president of the Home Builders Association.

If you happened to miss the home show on Saturday, it will be open this Sunday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. as well.
