Ledwell To Retire From FPD After 22 Years

Chief Thomas Ledwell with the Frederick Police Department is retiring after 22 years of service.
FREDERICK, Md. - City officials announced that Police Chief Thomas Ledwell will retire from his position.

Ledwell has served with the Frederick Police Department for 22 years.

He joined FPD in 1992, and since then has risen through the ranks from corporal, eventually making his way to Chief.

No explanation has been given for Ledwell's retirement.

According to the release, Ledwell plans to retire on September 23, 2014.
