OAKLAND, Md. - An LP tanker carrying 10,000 gallons of propane overturned on the roadway around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, according to Garrett County dispatchers.

They say the truck was coming down south on US 219 and took a left-hand turn onto 135 when it flipped over into the parking lot of a local bank.

Emergency crews closed and evacuated a five block radius, creating a perimeter around the accident with Water Street, 5th Street, 2nd Street and Green Street shut down.

They even evacuated the nearby courthouse and a small jail. Responders say no propane actually leaked, but they had to cut power to the power lines before trying to flip the truck back over.

Dispatchers say it was to make sure there wasn't any safety issues when dealing with this amount of propane.

No injuries were reported, but roads are expected to reopen around 7 p.m. Wednesday night.
