Man Arrested for Allegedly Assaulting Police

Police say the man tried to hit them, broke a radio antenna off a police car, and then was subdued by police.
CUMBERLAND, Md. - A West Virginia man was arrested for allegedly assaulting police in Allegany County, Maryland.

Cumberland Police say 52-year-old Curtis Coover, of Ridgeley, became out of control at a downtown Cumberland business on Thursday.

Police say Coover tried to hit them, broke a radio antenna off a police car, and then was subdued by police.

Coover faces numerous charges, including assault on police, second-degree assault, destruction of property, and disturbing the peace.
