THURMONT, Md. - Officers with the Thurmont Police Department have arrested a local man in connection to a burglary reported seven years ago.

In March 2007, Federal Stone Industries on Water Street in Thurmont was broken into and cash was stolen. Evidence from the crime scene was collected but the crime went unsolved. In November 2013 an investigator re-evaluated the evidence from the unsolved case, and submitted the evidence for DNA analysis.

The results produced a suspect who was an employee of the business in 2007.

On Feb. 28, 2014 the suspect, Dustin Ryan Bullis, 26, of Frederick, Md., was indicted by a Frederick County Grand Jury for the 2007 burglary and theft of the local Thurmont business.

On Tuesday, March 11 Bullis was served with the indictment. Bullis is currently incarcerated at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center on unrelated charges.
