Man Arrested in Walmart After Displaying Deadly Weapon

Maryland State Police said at 10:37 a.m. they responded to the Walmart located on County Club Mall Road in LaVale in reference to a person in the bathroom displaying a handgun.
ALLEGANY COUNTY, Md. - A West Virginia man was arrested Thursday morning at a LaVale Walmart after police said he displayed a handgun around the store. 

Maryland State Police said at 10:37 a.m. they responded to the Walmart located on County Club Mall Road in reference to a person in the bathroom displaying a handgun. 

The person, later identified as Brian Michael Lucas, 26, of Fort Ashby, W.Va., was seen by an employee removing a handgun from a shopping bag. Lucas put the handgun back in his bag, and continued walking into the store area. 

Troopers said when they arrived on the scene they took Lucas into custody without incident. Lucas was found to be in possession of a semi-automatic .45 caliber handgun. 

He was processed at the Maryland State Police Cumberland Barracks, and was charged with possession of a concealed deadly weapon.
