MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Officers with the Martinsburg Police Department responded to a domestic assault incident on 638 South Queen Street Saturday at 2:15 a.m.

When police arrived on the scene, they learned a woman was being held hostage at the home. Officers tried to get in contact with the people inside the home; they were able to find out one man was also inside.

Officers tried several times to talk to the man through telephone, and loudspeaker but got no response. This left officers to force their way into the home to check on the woman's condition.

The man was later arrested and taken out of the home. Further investigation revealed both the man and woman knew officers were trying to communicate with them but refused to answer the door. It was also learned the woman was not held hostage but was a victim of domestic battery by the man.

The man has been identified as Trenton Lee Keller, 32, of Martinsburg. Keller has been charged with domestic battery, battery, assault, and obstructing an officer.
