Maryland High Schools Make Top 40 List of Best High Schools In State

Multiple schools in Washington County and one in Allegany County made the cut according to a study published by US News and World Reports.
HAGERSTOWN, MD (WHAG) - As we're heading in the final stretch of the 2013-2014 school year, some Maryland High School in the Four State have made the cut as part of the Top 40 High Schools in Maryland according to a study published by U.S. News and World Report.

The study conducted and list complied was based upon factors including the Student to Teacher Ratio, how 12th graders performed on Advanced Placement (AP) Tests, and how students performed on their Math and Reading State Exit Exams.  The following schools made the cut in the top 40 this year.

5. Barbara Ingram School for the Arts - Hagerstown, MD - Washington County Public Schools
22. Boonsboro High School - Boonsboro, MD - Washington County Public Schools
24. Clear Spring High School - Clear Spring, MD - Washington County Public Schools
25. North Hagerstown High School - Hagerstown, MD - Washington County Public Schools
26. Smithsburg High School - Smithsburg, MD - Washington County Public Schools
27. Allegany High School - Cumberland, MD - Allegany County Public Schools
36. Williamsport High School - Williamsport, MD - Washington County Public Schools
39. Hancock Junior/Senior High School - Hancock, MD - Washington County Public Schools
