Maryland State Police Investigating a Double Fatal Accident

Two people died in a car accident early Saturday morning at Cearfoss Pike.
HAGERSTOWN, Md. - Maryland State Police are investigating a crash that killed a man and a woman in Hagerstown early Saturday Morning.

The driver, Shawn Ashley Minnick, 31 of Hagerstown was with the passenger, 29-year old Courtney Lee Bridge.

Officials say it happened around 2 a.m. on Cearfoss Pike west of Garden View Drive.

Minnick was driving her 2002 BMW westbound on Cearfoss Pike, trying to pass another vehicle traveling in the same direction. Minnick lost control of her car and drove off the south side of the roadway. After leaving the roadway, the car struck a utility pole, a Verizon telephone utility box, and a large boulder. The vehicle eventually came to a stop on its roof.
