The pool was shut down Wednesday, July 30 for repairs to the pool’s pumps that created cloudy water conditions, making it difficult for lifeguards to see swimmers, Stonehill said. Similar conditions resulted in the pool being closed on Independence Day.
Although the clarity of the pool has improved since Wednesday, for safety reasons the pool will remain closed Thursday until the cloudiness is acceptable. The staff will continue to monitor the clarity of the main pool and will hopefully be able to reopen by Friday, according to officials.
Stonehill said the baby pool and pool grounds reopened to the public at Thursday and no admission fees will be charged for the day.
Officials apologized for the inconvenience.
