Morgan Co. Sheriff's Office Investigates Deadly Stabbing

Detectives said the two got into a scuffle and then McCoy stabbed Buell in the neck. They said Buell was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly stabbing that happened early Tuesday morning.

Officials said Wesley Andrew McCoy, 24, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., got into a fight with his girlfriend just before 3 a.m. at a home along South Washington Street off of Route 522. 

McCoy's girlfriend called friends to pick her up and when friends arrived they said McCoy got into an argument with Justin Harold Buell, 32, of Morgan County. 

Detectives said the two got into a scuffle and then McCoy stabbed Buell in the neck. They said Buell was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

McCoy was initially charged with malicious wounding, but since Buell passed away in the hospital he is now charged with murder. 

McCoy was transported to the Eastern Regional Jail in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
