MCCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg are settling in to their new home on Fulton Drive and celebrated their space with a dedication ceremony.
"It's a good thing, its a change and we welcome that change," said Tpr. Jeffrey Petucci, Pennsylvania State Police.
With state-of-the-art technology, a sally port and more space, the new Troop G station will help officers execute their work in a more safe and faster way.
"We have a sally port for loading and unloading prisoners not only for officer safety but also for prisoner safety as well," said Tpr. Petucci,
The more than seven thousand square foot station also sits just within five miles of the heart of McConnellsburg.
"This facility gives us the opportunity to dispatch our troopers throughout the Fulton County in a very timely manner. As far as response time, it will help us get to incidents quicker," said Tpr. Petucci.
Troopers said the old station was one of the oldest in Troop G, and the move in to the bigger facility was needed.
