NEWSMAKER: Relaxing Your Mind With Yoga

WHAG's Carmen Chau sat down with Kathy Anderson, a yoga instructor of Frederick Memorial Hospital to discuss the benefits of doing yoga.
WHAG NEWS - The Frederick Memorial Hospital Wellness Center has been around for about 25 years, providing alternative and complimentary therapies to the community. 

The center offers several services such as: yoga, massage, reflexology, acupuncture, reiki, and facials. 

Kathy Anderson, a yoga instructor with the wellness center strongly encourage everyone to do yoga or try it out. One of the biggest benefits of yoga is it has become a way to unwind from stress. 

Yoga can be done at home from videos online or practicing from DVD's. However, many also prefer a yoga studio with an instructor since the aura sets the mood. Anderson said finding the right yoga studio to fit your needs and comfort level is like finding a home. It is important to make sure the studio can set the appropriate environment to practice your exercises.
