Non-Profit Collecting School Supplies for Needy Children

A non-profit organization in Frederick County wants to make sure all kids have the supplies they need for the school year.
FREDERICK, MD - A non-profit organization in Frederick County wants to make sure all kids have the supplies they need for the school year.

The Religious Coalition for Emergency Human Needs is holding the drive for needy children in the county. They need everything from backpacks to crayons.

The group is holding a school fundraiser supply drive this Sunday afternoon and Monday morning at the Trinity United Methodist church.

You can also donate by calling the Religious Coalition at 301-631-2670 or dropping supplies off at the Wal-Mart on Route 85.

"It's very difficult to get a decent education without school supplies, and oftentimes those who are wealthier are able to have a number of different school supplies, but sometimes poorer children are kind of left out," says Rev. Brian Scott.
