FREDERICK, Md. - The Frederick County Health Department has quarantined the Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center while some residents were recovering from a gastrointestinal virus.

Management say when three percent of their residents are affected by a virus the Health Department is alerted. On Friday, they say for precautionary reasons, the center closed it's doors to visitors until further notice.

Nursing home management said residents with the stomach bug have only been affected for about 24 to 48 hours and its an illness that's not unusual for these type of centers.

They said none of the residents currently have the virus and that they hope to lift the visitor ban by next week.
