BERKELEY CO, Wv.-One person was killed in an accident on I-81 Saturday afternoon.
Berkeley County dispatchers say a car was traveling southbound on the Interstate near exit 12 at around when sudden and heavy rainfall caused the driver to lose control.
The car spun through the grass median into the northbound side and then struck another car. Authorities say two others were injured. One person was flown to the hospital and another was taken by an ambulance. Both northbound lanes were closed for hours between the exits 8-12 (from the Tabler Station Rd exit to the Winchester Avenue exit. They opened back up after The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office is still investigating the accident. The name of the deceased victim has not yet been released.
