Pennsylvania Fire Department Receives Much Needed Grant

The Waynesboro Ambulance Squad is receiving a much needed grant from the Department of Homeland Security.
FRANKLIN COUNTY, PA - The Waynesboro Ambulance Squad will soon be better equipped to do what they do best day in, and day out... saving lives.

Congressman Bill Shuster recently announced that the group will be awarded a $50,000 grant from the Department of Homeland Security.

The squad already knows where the valuable money will go, and it will go directly towards 35 new sets of EMS gear consisting of boots, helmets, pants, coats and gloves specifically designed to protect a first responder from biological hazards.

Chief Casey Rock was quick to note that the grant is a win-win in it's dual purpose of providing for both first responders and the county.

The squad is grateful for the new gear, knowing it will keep everyone safe as they serve the citizens they are entrusted to protect.

The Waynesboro community has been extremely instrumental in helping the ambulance squad over the years, and they are happy to return the favor.
