Cumberland Police Department:
On January 4, 2012 officers from the Cumberland City Police Department responded to Martin's Market on Park Street for a theft complaint.   When the officer arrived at the location contact was made with an employee of Martin's.   During an investigation into the matter, officers learned that the store staff had a female subject detained for shoplifting.   The subject was contacted and identified as, Cassadi Anne Andrews.   Officers were informed that Andrews attempted to steal black eye liner from the store.  Andrews was stopped by staff and detained until officers arrived at the location.  Andrews was issued a criminal citation at the scene and later released.

Arrested: Cassadi Anne Andrews                                       Age: 21 of Cumberland, Maryland

Charge: Theft under $100.00.
C3I:

On Thursday, 01/05/2011, at approximately 1:00 AM, a lone suspect entered the Pit N Go Convenience Store and Gas Station in Lonaconing and approached the counter. The suspect wanted to make a purchase, but when the employee on duty opened the cash register to conclude the purchase, the suspect reached over the counter and pushed the employee, reached into the register, and removed an undisclosed sum of cash. The suspect fled the store on foot, heading north. The suspect did not display a weapon at any time during the incident.

The Maryland State Police responded to the scene. A short track of the suspect's foot prints in the snow led to where officials believed the suspect had a vehicle parked, which he then entered to flee the scene.

The suspect was described as a white male in his mid-twenties to early thirties in age, with a "scruffy" beard and mustache, approximately 6-00 feet tall, and 170 to 180 pounds in weight. He was wearing a black colored "hoodie" type sweatshirt, blue jeans, and a ball cap. He had the hood of the sweatshirt pulled up over his head in an apparent attempt to disguise his face.

Investigators with the Allegany County Combined Criminal Investigation Unit (C3I) responded to the scene to assist in the investigation. Video surveillance in the store was reviewed and photos of the suspect were obtained.

The crime scene was processed by a Maryland State Police Crime Lab Technician.
