Powerball Winners in Cascade, Rolling in Dough

"Next thing you know, he calls me at 12:30 at night and tells me, ‘hey, we got five numbers.’ I told him to shut his mouth. I said, I ain’t got time to be joking around and he said, ‘no I’m serious, we won’,” said cook at Rocky’s, Rocky DiCola.
CASCADE, Md. - The owners of a local pizza shop hit it big recently, winning a million dollars with one Powerball ticket.

Four cascade residents, and Rocky's Pizza co-workers, just got a sweet slice of life.

And they did win. They're all getting a hefty chunk of the winning one million dollar Powerball ticket, which was one of seven tickets they purchased at GT's Handi Mart in Cascade.

"We realized it was something this morning when we got to the place to claim but its still unbelievable," said manager, Mariana Panascandalo.

"I have not got any crazy calls yet. No friends have come out of the wood work yet because I haven’t really been out there yet. Probably after this interview I’ll probably get a few," said Brandon Dougan, one of the pizza delivery specialists at Rocky’s.

So what are they going to do with their new winnings??

"I just want to take care of my family and just do the right thing in life. Sometimes in life, you make promises and you got to stick by them because that’s the right thing to do and there's always someone looking down over you and judging your moral fiber, and I want to make sure my moral fiber stays in tact," Di-Cola said.

This is the fifth second-tier winning Powerball ticket sold in Maryland just this year.

The jackpot drawing is Wednesday, that's worth about $257 million.
