PSP Investigating Crash; Report Passenger Improperly Restrained in Car Seat Dies

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a deadly accident that happened in Antrim Thursday evening. They said a passenger, who was improperly restrained in a car seat, died following the accident.
Antrim Township, PA - Officials with the Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a deadly crash that happened Thursday evening near the Maryland State Line.  They say a passenger in one of the cars that was involved in the accident was improperly restrained in a child safety seat and died following the accident.

Police said the crash happened at the intersection of State Line Road and Hollowell Church Road just before 6:30 Thursday evening.  They said a car, driven by 29 year old Randy Barnhart, traveling westbound failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection, and hit the driver's side of a second vehicle, driven by 39 year-old Lucille Martin.

Martin was taken to Meritus Medical Center with moderate injuries, according to police.  Officials said a passenger, in a car seat improperly fixed to the car was pronounced dead at Meritus Medical Center, and a second passenger, who suffered abdominal injuries.

Several roads in the area were closed following the accident.  Police said the accident remains under investigation.
